Since 1998 I’ve spent the first several months of each year looking for the very best search engine optimization (SEO) tips or search engine optimization secrets. This year I’ve come across the Best SEO Helpers and I’ve compiled a list of what I consider to be the Top 3 SEO Tips.
SEO Tip #1 – Free Website Promotion
There are tons of free website promotion tools on the market. Find out which free website promotion techniques you can take advantage of and invest in. These free promotion tools are perfect for doing your own website promotion. Using these tools will not only get you traffic but also traffic that is targeted.
SEO Tip #2 – Google Page Rank
Google’s Page Rank number 7 Explanation
Google’s Page Rankings one of the most important features to keep in mind when you’re trying to get higher rankings. This tool updates as you post new content and will tell you the PR of any page you are currently displaying on. I’ve read plenty of people state that they have no Google Page Rank and state that their site is not indexed by Google.
People, how you manage to have a high Google Page Rank is beyond the scope of this article. Having a high Page Rank today doesn’t guarantee you will receive higher positions in the SERPS. It’s well worth mentioning however that having a higher Page Rank can help increase the amount of traffic your site receives. The traffic is currently the main driving force for Google’s search engine.
Another factor that Google takes into account is the variety of websites you have linking to your site. Google will believe that if hundreds of sites are referring their users to your site then your site must be more valuable than a site with not so many links. Its initial research will help you determine which sites are linking to your site so that you can target these sites to assist your search engine optimization.
SEO Tip #3 – Anchor Text and Title Tags
Including “click here” or ” see more” in your anchor text tag is seen by Google and the other search engines as a description of your website. If you are using a blog platform for some of your content then it will be a good idea to use your blog keywords as the anchor text.
SEO Tip #4 – Website Design
This is obviously a huge topic and needs a separate article all to itself. But if you want to make the content on your website more search engine friendly then make sure your website is in HTML format. If you are using a WordPress blog platform then make sure to convert your HTML into the WordPress format.
I highly recommend going the W3 Total Cache plugin which will speed up your WordPress blog 60 times over if you follow their instructions. I would also recommend the All In One SEO pack plugin to give you some SEO input.
If you are using WordPress then make sure to download and install the FLASH plug-in. The Flash here is not read by Google so the content you see through the Flash site won’t be indexed. Just the same you won’t get a lot of traffic.
A title tag in the front of your HTML code is probably the most powerful on-site SEO factor you can control. If you follow my advice you’ll be behind the curve with most of your web buildings.
The title tag is the first thing Google sees when looking for your website. A quick and easy SEO tip: put your keyword inside your title tag, and again make sure it reads naturally.
Now there many different factors Google takes into account when deciding where to rank your site for any given keyword but I’m pretty sure that it’s something they’ve taken into account.
Old Word Of Mouth
Today the internet is almost entirely made up of “Word Of Mouth” ads. These are quite powerful and if you are the “local guy” then you’ve got a massive advantage. Tell everyone you know who will “like” your business page on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest and if they like your business then they will come!
That said most people won’t do that and instead will leave YOUR business profile on YOU site. Having thousands of friends on Facebook that “like” your business means nothing to Google and the search engines. Only having your business profile on social networks will start to rank you higher.
I’ve only scratched the surface of SEO tips and ideas here and there in this article. If you’re looking for one of the best places to get more SEO tips I highly recommend that you check out theEzineicated.
If you’re just starting out as a newbie writer, and you want to make more money, read on!
If you’re new to the business of writing SEO articles, blogger reviews, self-publishing articles, or selling your own products, here’s some advice that will help.
First of all, don’t write for the search engines. Be sure to write for your readers. Google will ultimately determine what your articles are about, and they expect you to write about things that are related to your articles. If it’s not, you won’t get listed in the search engines.
A good example of what you should write, and what you won’t want to write, in this situation:
If you were to choose the above example of ‘article writing’, then you know that your readers would pay (to read) something that focuses on the subject of ‘article writing advice’. And you will create a guide about it.
You’ll put together a list of things that are under your submission category. Then you’ll get to the point of including the link.
You’ll make sure that it focuses on your submission category, and that it includes the link. You can put that link in the body a few times, or just post it at the end, like this article.
Each time you do it like this, you’ll be building another link from another separate source to your website. You can’t imagine how many links you can get from doing this!
If you know HTML, you know the value of using the following HTML tags:
It is generally a good idea to use ‘nofollow’ tags in your content. But don’t fixate on it. What matters is that you use the tags that you need, and that you use them when you have to. Trying to get every link that you can without using the nofollow tags will only water down the importance of your original link.
This is one of the most important things when it comes to search engine optimization. The more links pointing to your website, the better.
But if you’re just starting out and don’t have many clients, you won’t be able to offer many links. So you’d need to find other websites that you can get links from.
Try out building links with a blogroll, guest posting, and even by writing articles with a link to your website in the footer.
Writing and submitting articles can increase your rankings
This is particularly important if you’re starting out and have no experience. In addition to the traffic that you will receive from the article sites, Google will also give you credit for each incoming link to your website.
This means that if you have repeat visitors that find your articles through search, they will come back to your website. They will also come back to your blog and read the new posts. This will soccer you to the top of the list for new visitors!
You’ll also benefit from the WordPress’ ‘read more’ plugin which allows visitors to click on links to the full article. That way they’ll be taken to the full content which must be of interest to them.
Here’s how to set up Google Analytics.

What is the difference between white hat and black hat search engine optimization? In a nutshell, the white-hat strategy focuses on quality search engine optimization techniques whereas the black hat strategy focuses on unethical or “adversary” tactics to optimize website performance. There are pros and cons to both strategies, so it is important to know what the difference is before making your final decision on which one to use for your own website. We will go over the pros and cons of both strategies and provide you with an SEO comparison chart to help you make this important decision.
The primary difference between the two strategies lies in the methods used to optimize a website. White hat strategies take longer to implement than black hat strategies, but they usually yield more permanent results. With white hat optimization, you will generally need to monitor your rankings on a regular basis in order to keep them consistent. However, in the long run, this proves to be less costly since organic traffic tends to convert better than paying traffic.
Black hat SEO works quite differently. Usually, these techniques will push your website right out the gate with little to no SEO work behind it. This can lead to dramatic surges in traffic after a short period of time, but if your site’s content is not properly optimized, it could take even longer to realize any benefits, if it does at all.
The biggest difference between the two strategies lies in how quickly rankings can be affected. With white hat SEO, you could see an immediate increase in ranking based on the amount of time it takes you to do maintenance such as backlinking and optimizing content. Since most people understand the value of white hat SEO, this shouldn’t be too hard of a concept for most webmasters.
The downside of these techniques, however, is that they have more risk involved in them. While they might help you get onto page one of search results, there’s always the chance that you won’t be able to maintain rankings for long. At the same time, you could find that your competitors are overtaking you just because they used these techniques in a hurry. If these techniques prove unfeasible, you could find yourself with an even worse problem: your competitors are moving up the ranks at record-breaking speeds while you struggle to maintain yours.
In terms of effectiveness, this strategy relies on content. It might seem difficult to make content relevant to the search engines, but if you use the right tools and take the time to write truly useful content, you should be able to succeed. The most basic tool you should use is a keyword relevancy tool. These tools look closely at the words in your site’s URL and rank them based on their relevancy. If the keywords in your niche are all over the place, or nearly so, you will want to revise your approach.
An alternative to keyword relevancy is keyword density, another consideration when thinking about white hat SEO versus black hat SEO. A site that has too few relevant keywords will appear less natural and will likely suffer from low rankings. This is one of the more subtle differences between these two strategies. You need to be sure that you aren’t simply cutting out keywords because you think they’ll make your site more successful. Instead, you should choose keywords intelligently and strategically.
Of course, ranking high in search engines isn’t the only benefit that using these methods will bring you. These techniques are also more reliable since they are less likely to be manipulated or abused. While it might not seem logical that ranking high would equate to more sales, studies show that consumers who are offered the choice between two products (a la Google AdSense) tend to purchase the higher ranking product. While it might not make sense on the surface, the logic behind this strategy makes sense once you look at the results.
